This summer has been so much fun and been a great experience. I look back at all the memories and miss all the great time I had with everyone. Traveling all around Taiwan has been lots of fun doing hands-on activities, but going to each place in person with others was the best part.

In the first few days of camp, we were strangers to each other, but we were strangers who wanted to get to know each other. Soon enough, we were all very close friends. We enjoyed doing the many activities together, such as pottery making, pineapple picking, tie-dying, jade carving, and cooking. We also had fun with the active activities and the sports: biking along the beach, digging for sweet potatoes, mini golfing, rock climbing, horse riding, batting cage, traditional dancing, paintball, and my favorite, rafting. The time we spent there was not all for having fun; we had classes for three weeks, learning current words, the origins of words, and calligraphy. There were also wonderful classes where we learned to cook. We learned many things about Taiwan’s history, culture, and geography, which make it special.

Green Island also holds a part of Taiwan that is like, but also different from Taiwan. When we were snorkeling right off the coast, the rich sea life below the surface was magnificent. The clear, healthy water surrounding Green Island is abundant with sea life, and it glitters beautifully against the setting sun.

At the airport, everyone was crying because we had become so attached to one another. The time we have spent together in one month, learning and playing together, will never be forgotten as we travelled around Taiwan this summer. I miss you all!!!!!!!!!
